The Early Years

Rise to Fame
Their big break came in 1953 when they won a local talent contest. Their performance caught the attention of Federal Records, who offered them a recording contract. Three years later, Paul Robi, the last surviving original member of the group, passed away. With his death, the Platters' era came to an end.
